In the poem The Road Not Taken, I think the theme is that people don't always go down the road that everyone else goes down. So basically, if everyone is doing something some people will choose to do something different. A great example of this is Obama. He is part African Amercian and ran for president, something most African Americians would not do. To top it off he won!!! =))))). Back to the poem though...=)) I believe that the poet is one of the couple people who will choose his path based on his desicions, not what everyone else is doing.

I chose this poem because this is the type of person I am trying to be. I want to be comfortable standing out from the crowd and maybe have others follow in my choice. This poem effects my life...well not so much effect, but defintily influences me. I would love to become like the poet. " Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference" The poet is making a difference by taking the road that nobody traveles and he wants to be able to make both the choices, but knows only one can be made.
